Watch this space…

My apologies to all who would be following my posts, if I had any.  I had a great performance tonight at the Fourth Friday Open Mic at the Chelmsford Center for the Arts, singing “First Snowfall” by Jane Ellen and “Pass It On,” an original.  I am making a November resolution to get videos up here… I have about a year’s worth that I owe you!

Thanks for your patience!  As they say, watch this space. 🙂

God’s Song

This song was written through me on Thursday, February 7, 2013, as I contemplated the worship service that I would be giving at Tree of Life Interfaith Temple on that Sunday.  You can read the worship service here.

I’ll be performing “God’s Song” with accompaniment for the first time on February 22, 2013, at the CCA Fourth Friday Open Mic – as always, all are welcome.  I’ll work to get a video up as soon as possible afterwards.

lyrics and music by Carrie Little, 2013

God speaks to me through a flower

God speaks to me through the rain

God speaks to me in a thousand ways

in laughter and in pain

God sings to me from the mountains

God sings to me from the sea

God sings to me of a thousand things

of the blackbird and the bee

And I know that I am loved

and I know I’m not alone

I hear God’s song within my heart

And I am home

God’s light shines through a smile

God’s light shines through a tear

God’s light shines through the cold dark place

when friends are there

And I know that I am loved

and I know I’m not alone

I hear God’s song within my heart

And I am home

I feel him through connection

I know her through my love

He’s outside and within me

She’s around me and above

And I know that I am loved

and I know I’m not alone

I hear God’s song within my heart

And I am home

And I know that you are loved

and I know you’re not alone

God’s song is playing in your heart

You are home

God’s song is playing in our hearts

We are always home.

NEFF videos… to whet your appetite

Hi all!

It’s taken me a while to post the video from the New England Fringe Festival, but here it is!  There aren’t any brand new songs in this mix, but you can tell that I’ve gained confidence since my first performances.

Click on the song titles below, or go straight to YouTube/TheSpiritualSongstrs to check them out.

And, please, consider this a teaser for my performance Friday (Dec 28, 2012), at the Chelmsford Center for the Arts Fourth Friday Open Mic.  I’ll be doing a 30-min set of new originals and covers, all wintery or solsticey.   I look forward to seeing you there.   If you can’t make it, be sure to watch this space (and feel free to prod me) for the videos!

Dear God

All of Our Years

I Will Stand by You

Enjoy, and I hope to see you on Friday! 🙂

I’m back!

It’s been a while since I’ve been out on the singing circuit, but I’m coming back with gusto on Friday, December 28 at the Chelmsford Center for the Arts Fourth Friday Open Mic.   I’ll be doing a 30 minute set, including some new original songs and some covers of turning of the year / Solstice / winter songs.   It’s going to be great fun; I hope you all can join me! :):)

New England Fringe Festival

I’ll be performing this Saturday, Sept 15, at the New England Fringe Festival.  I must say, I’m really excited!   I’ve attended the Fest before; I’ve even been in the Fest before.  But I’ve never had MY OWN SHOW in the Fest. 🙂

For those who aren’t familiar with it, the details are here – and, of course, the pertinent info is also on the “upcoming gigs” page up there ^^.  The New England Fringe Fest, in the great style of other Fringes, such as Edinburgh and San Francisco, is a festival of performances of every genre.  Puppetry, theatre, comedy, storytelling, dance, music – whatever YOU (or your friends) do on stage, that’s what the NEFF is for!  Performances are between 15 minutes and an hour long (depending on the performer).

I’m performing on Saturday in the 8pm time slot, surrounded by theater and dance. 🙂  Tickets are $15 to see all 3 acts (and a 4th might be added!).  You can buy tickets in advance (strongly suggested) here.  I’ll be filling a 15-minute slot, so hopefully will get to perform all 5 of my songs back-to-back – the only question is how much I might talk in between!

I really hope all of you (or at least some of you!) will be able to come out and support me in this. 🙂  For those of you too far away, have you watched my videos yet?  Here is the direct link to my YouTube page. 🙂  I’ve also recently added an “about the songs” page (up there ^^), which I’ll be adding to as time allows.

Love to all!

New videos available!

Videos are available on YouTube from the Jam’n Java Open Mic this past Friday (Sep 7).  Here are the links (click on the titles).  The video quality isn’t the best, but you can get the idea. 🙂

We have video!!

Yeah, you need to click to go to the YouTube page/s, sorry.  Not quite at the point that I can justify the “space upgrade” or “videopress upgrade” in order to embed the videos.
